We have had two very special visitors so far come and stay and try everything out as well as a few catering events and of course, the farmer's markets (2 per week now through October). I will say that it's been quite and enjoyable experience, even with all the "mystery" things happening. "Why is it raining in the basement?" "Why isn't the heat coming on?" "Why is there a lake all of the sudden, in the top field?" "Whose ducks are those?" Of course my all time favorite so far has been, "What's that smell?" Taking on this size of project from scratch is not for the faint of heart. We are lucky that the town is so welcoming and everyone we have come in contact with have been kind and all around lovely people.
Shout out to our egg lady, Amy, for always making sure our guests have the absolute best farm eggs from her very happy chickens! We already have a few bookings so I'm sure they will be thrilled with the local produce and other deliciousness we have very close by.
Some things I have no plan on doing EVER again for the rest of my mortal life include, building ANY type of furniture that shows up from our very friendly UPS or Fed Ex delivery people. At this point it's like an electric shock zapping me when I see boxes from Wayfair, Pottery Barn, Lowes, Home Depot and any number of the canvas art vendors we now call family.
...and most definitely, AFTER! Talk about a labor of love. ALL that wallpaper had to be removed and the walls completely repaired.
Honestly, who wouldn't want to soak in this fabulous space?!
Whatever the weather, come stay with us! Our home, is your home.
