August in the Kingdom brings a distinct kind of magic. The early morning air in Lyndonville carries that crisp, unmistakable prelude to autumn, while the afternoons remain warm, golden, and lingering. As the final weeks of summer unfold, we are soaking up every moment of the season while quietly gearing up for one of our busiest times of the year. We want to introduce our most recent rescued soul. Please welcome Coal to the pack! Coal is a senior Alaskan Husky who journeyed from South Carolina to northern Massachusetts, where we picked him up and brought him to live with Pancake, Snow and of course Maple. He is a big lovebug and he has settled into the Northeast Kingdom Vermont lifestyle.

Local Tradition: End-of-Summer County Fairs

August in Vermont wouldn't be complete without the timeless tradition of our local county fairs. From agricultural displays and draft horse pulls to live music, rides, and local food stalls, these gatherings capture the genuine heart of our region. Staying with us in late summer means easy access to these iconic Northeast Kingdom events—the perfect afternoon or evening outing before returning to the calm of the orchard.




Farm-to-Table Mornings: High Summer Produce

Late August brings the absolute peak of the local growing season, and our kitchen takes full advantage of it. Our daily breakfasts feature freshly harvested produce and artisanal ingredients sourced directly from nearby Vermont farms and orchards.

From heirloom tomatoes and fresh herbs to local berries, artisanal cheeses, and maple products, every dish reflects the vibrant flavors of the region. Expect freshly baked treats—like our warm cinnamon rolls, fresh blueberry muffins—paired with coffee or tea each morning.

    





Exciting Expansion: Adding a New Suite

We are thrilled to share that we are expanding our accommodations! Work is underway on a brand-new, ground floor, guest suite designed to offer even more space, light, and comfort.

Whether you are planning a romantic weekend getaway, an extended stay to explore the Northeast Kingdom, or visiting loved ones nearby, this new suite will feature thoughtful details, cozy furnishings, and stunning views of our surrounding grounds. We can’t wait to officially welcome our first guests into this beautiful new space soon.

Gathering & Looking Ahead: Barn Renovation Updates

Summer has been filled with wonderful gatherings, from intimate family celebrations to outdoor get-togethers across our 16-acre property. As we look ahead to autumn and beyond, our event space is shifting into high gear.

We are currently prepping the space for this year’s fall parties and foliage season celebrations, while also kicking off a larger renovation of our event barn. This project will transform the barn into a premier event space, officially opening to host grand celebrations, weddings, and large gatherings in Spring 2027.

As Vermont’s legendary foliage season approaches, our grounds offer the perfect rustic-chic backdrop for:

  • Fall parties and milestone gatherings

  • Intimate family reunions and birthdays

  • Booking future weddings and large events for 2027 and beyond
